Week 12 Update

Total white out at the weekend so no results to report. It isn't forecast to snow again this week according to the BBC and it appears that the temperature will remain above freezing so I would expect training and a full programme of games to be played as follows:

Things are shaping up well for the second half to the season after a very solid first half for all of the teams. As ever the ongoing success of the Club is heavily contingent on your commitment which has been excellent so far. Evidence of this is the strength of men's squads which, on the basis of the selection meeting last night, are set to push on from here.

Please see below the re-jigged squads for the 1st and 2nd XI's, with a more formalised 3rd XI squad to be confirmed this week. As before, these are fluid entities and will be subject to regular review determined by a number of factors (form, availability, fitness etc). It may well be that although you are notionally attached to a given squad, you may well be needed to play in a lower or indeed higher team on a week to week basis, not least as the view is that the ideal match-day squads sizes are 14 for the 1s and 13 for the 2s, meaning some weeks we will have over-supply. We are, after all, members of a Club and not individual teams and I ask you all to support the Club as a whole and your team captains who have the very tricky task of a) putting out the strongest available sides and b) keeping everyone happy. If you end up being dropped, rotated, rested etc, please do not go off and sulk but do your best to win your place back.

Men's 1st XI Squad - Owen Ellender, Christopher Ryder, Jan Rattay, Benjamin Squires**, Peter Nash, Edward Cullen*, Jason Ward-Horner, Oliver Parmenter, Charles Parnell, Jonathan Milsted, Oliver Bell, Christopher Mills, Dominique Selvon, Sebastien Wilson, Edward Fuller, Andrew Buckle

Men's 2nd XI Squad - William Murday, Henry Aldridge, Thomas Matthews, Michael Thurgood, Christopher Cattermole, David Bevan**, Daniel Sellwood, Simon Norris*, James Kennedy, Daniel Steene, Benedict Wordsworth, David Beck, Alexander Kew, James Le Ball, Thomas Phillips

We will announce the 3rd XI Squad later this week but in the meantime well done to those named above. Don't rest on your laurels though, there were some tough decisions that Eddie and Norris had to make with a number of either/or situations to resolve.

As always there are numerous things to discuss but I will leave it that for the time being. Final reminder for the Club Drinks at The Florence on Saturday after the matches. Would be great to see as many of you there as possible to support the Club and our very generous sponsor!
